Bankid and electronic identification can be used in the following ways:

- By eIDAS
Physical Bank-ID with a small machine and card.
Physical bank Id are either debit/credit cards along with a card reader machine or a separate ID card with chip working with the same card reader machine are used. It varies from bank to bank how they manage physical bank ids but all of those works in similar manner. Please ask your bank if you want to use physical bank ID and they will provide you necessary hardware and training.
Mobile Bank-ID with the help of mobile app.
Mobile bank id are most commonly used in whole Sweden, it is a mobile application protected with secured pin code which you have to use to identify yourself while login into different public or private websites. The bank in which you have account will help you to setup mobile bank ID. Eg. I have account in SEB bank so for the first time I set up mobile bank ID with the help of digipass.
AB Svenska Pass that is by using Skatteverket ID card and card reader machine.
If you have seen Skatteverket ID card it is enables with chip, you can use this card with card reader provided by Skatteverket to login in different websites. Normally AB Svenska Pass is not widely used as compared to Mobile Bank ID. This system is little old way of identification.
This method is more global way of Identification in Europe, that me if you from other country in Europe that use eIDAS you can login or identify yourself in different government websites in Sweden with the help of ID issued by your country and card reader. So far I have seen this method is accepted in Skatteverket website, my be I am wrong.
As of today Mobile bank ID is more popular across Sweden and more widely accepted. So start using Mobile Bank ID as soon as you arrive in Sweden.
